Sharjah women’s cricket team, as part of its exposure trips, is at Andhra Cricket Association women’s academy at Guntur and it will play practice matches with ACA Colts till August 25.
The academy at JKC College premises, which has been adopted by BCCI, has earlier played host to China, Thailand and Asian Cricket Council teams for training stints.
“The team, with 12 members and coaching staff, had arrived on August 17 and they will play T-20 matches along with training sessions. Women’s cricket is gradually picking up in the desert nation and young girls are showing more interest towards the game,” says ACA coach Srinivasa Reddy.
